Pro tip to skip around the lines of people at the border - grab a bus (for a small fee, of course) which drops you off at the front of the line. Even with the 20+ minute wait at the border before we got out, "the regulars" assured us we'd saved at least an hour of standing in line. When we were solicited to get on the bus, we were told "leaving now" but of course (and I knew this) that van wasn't going to move an inch until it was FULL.
